This tree, growing up and out of this crumbling six story containment apparatus, that has been kept alive for decades while the city grew around it. The containment device has since fallen into disrepair and all of the glass is gone now. Regardless it was a success! It protected the tree through its early, fragile years and now it has grown large and strong and lives freely on its own!
